Lions Ledger: Women's soccer host #16 Rollins in midweek action

Saint Leo men's golf travels to Palm Beach Gardens to take part in the NSU Shark Invitational after taking third at the Griffin Invitational a week ago with a score of 869 (+5).
The Lions look to defend their title after holding off Florida Tech a year ago for first place at 886 (+22) on the Champion Course at PGA National. Oliver Lilliedahl, Alberto Castagnara and Dave Longhini are the lone returners to the course where Lilliedahl tied for second at one-over and Castagnara in fourth at two-over 218.
Saint Leo looks to win its third title having won previously in 2015 and 2018.
Alberto Castagnara paced the team in his first tournament of the year with a second place finish at 210 with scores of 74-69-67 at the Griffin Invitational.
After two tournaments, six full rounds, Oliver Lilliedahl leads the team in scoring average with a 71 where Kevin Johnson and Dave Longhini are tied at 72 just ahead of Nilo Sanchez at 72.5.

Saint Leo women's golf returns to the links after taking seventh at the Bubba Burger Jacksonville Classic and will head into a challenging tournament with a stacked top-25 field at the Golfweek DII Fall Invitational.
The Lions took seventh at the Bubba Burger with a score of 915 (+51) after Francesca Santoni led the team with a 10-over 226 for the three rounds with scores of 74-77-75.
After two tournaments, six rounds, Francesca Santoni paces the team on average with a 75, edging out Synne Lauritzen at 76. Izzy Lawrence is third at 77 while Isabel Nesteus is holding at 77.5.

The Saint Leo women's soccer team earned their second straight victory in comeback fashion at Eckerd's Johnson Field Wednesday night. The Lions topped the Tritons 2-1 as Kelli Hippenmeyer tallied her season's first goal alongside Carolina Solis-Deleon's game-winning performance, becoming the Green and Gold's 2019 leading scorer.
Julia Ortiz enters the week with a 5-3-1 goalkeeping record with 39 saves and a 1.12 goals allowed average.
No. 16 Rollins also just saw one game last week with a bye on Wednesday. The Tars extended their win streak to three defeating Eckerd (3-1).
Kathryn O'Brien has netted six goals, three assists for as the Tars' leading offensive force. She is supported by Chynna McGirt with three goals and five assists.
In the Tars' net is filled by Elena Beasley with a 6-1 record pairing with 29 saves and a 1.14 goals allowed average.
