SAINT LEO, Fla. – For the ninth time this season the Saint Leo volleyball team swept its opponent Saturday afternoon, Rollins College, 3-0 inside the Marion Bowman Activities Center. The Lions used a balanced attack to slow down the Tars as four Lions finished with seven or more kills in the match.

The victory moves Saint Leo's record to 16-6 on the year and 7-4 in Sunshine State Conference play. The Tars dropped to 6-15 overall and 1-9 in league play.

Senior middle
Annabella Arcari led the Lions as she posted 13 kills on just 17 swings with a .706 hitting percentage for the match. She also had a pair of blocks in the contest. Junior
Ashley Quero returned to the starting lineup and posted 10 kills, five digs and a block. The final two top offensive standouts were junior
Michelle Cuervo, who had eight kills, and senior
Anilise Fitzi who posted seven. Fitzi also led the team with three blocks in the match.

Anna Garrett dished out 37 assists in just three sets while contributing seven digs, a pair of blocks and a kill to the effort. Sophomore libero
Payton Bellano dug up a team-best 14 balls while defensive specialist
Fabiola Rosado added 12.

The Lions had eight service aces in the match to help topple the Tars led by freshman
Skylar Singleton who had three in the match.

Saint Leo won in straight-sets 25-16, 25-19 and 25-20. The Lions hit .291 as a squad while Rollins turned in a .194 percentage.

Riley Spurlin led the Tars with 15 kills as she was the lone Rollins player to reach double-figures.

Saint Leo will now prepare for a midweek match-up with Florida Southern. The Lions will travel to the Mocs Tuesday, October 29 for a 7 p.m. match.
