SAINT LEO, Fla. – Junior transfer Federico Toschi earned his first Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week title on Monday. The Italian forward netted a pair of goals and an assist in the Saint Leo Lions' victories over Rollins (3-2 2OT) and Barry (2-1). Toschi compiled five shots with three dangerous takes on frame over the span of the two conference matchups.
 
With 38 seconds remaining in the second overtime period at Rollins, Toschi fired a shot with too much heat for a clean save by the Tars' goalkeeper. Dylan Moriera put away the loose ball for the win.
 
Saturday held another big highlight night for Toschi. The junior forward had a perfect night as both shots taken found the back of the Bucs' net. In the 27th minute, Elias Niesigk fed a perfect ball to Toschi, who freed up just enough space to put the ball under the goalkeeper's right hand. In the 52nd minute, Niesigk flicked on a goal kick to Gabriel Rickmann who took drove it to the left side of the field, put up a powerful cross finding Toschi open and ready to put away the ultimate game-winner. 
 
Toschi's offensive onslaught earned him the title of the team's goal and point leader with five goals, two assists for 12 season points. The win allowed Saint Leo to climb up the Sunshine State Conference standings to the third seed. The decision also marked the Lions second-straight win, fourth win at home, and snapped a two-year losing skid to the Bucs.
 
The Green and Gold returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. at Florida Tech.
