Women's Basketball Notes
  • The Saint Leo Lions offense was tamed by the Embry-Riddle Eagles in a 72-36 decision Saturday night, the Lions third-straight loss.
  • At Daytona Beach, Alani Gallagher dished out a team-high 10 points while grabbing four rebounds and a block. Casey Wortley earned a team-high 10 rebounds. Alex Button contributed six points and five rebounds.
  • On the season, Wortley leads the team with 10.6 PPG, while also grabbing a team-high 6.1 RPG. The 6'3 forward enters the week shooting 40.1-percent from the field while going 72.4-percent from the free throw line.
  • Gina Brierley is averaging 9.4 PPG while shooting a 34.6-percent followed by Gallagher's 7.9 PPG, while she is knocking down 41.2-percent of her shots and pitching in with just over 5 RPG.
  • Florida Tech clinched a 59-58 against Nova Southeastern on Saturday to return to the win column after a pair of losses.

  • Last meeting: Delaney Bernard's (then) career-high of 18 points lifted Saint Leo 62-54 over Florida Tech in Melbourne to split the 2017-18 series. The Panthers cruised past the Lions 85-52 in the series opener in the Marion Bowman Activities Center.

Men's Basketball Notes
  • Saint Leo welcomes Florida Tech into the Bowman Center after taking down Embry-Riddle 88-82 on the road Saturday, Jan. 5.
  • The Lions saw Kyran McClure score a career-high 27 points, going 14-of-16 from the free throw line. Just behind McClure was Junior Searcy who scored 22 points and Isaiah Hill with 13 points.
  • On the year, McClure remains the team leader in scoring with 14.3 points per game with Junior Searcy in second at 12.7 ppg. Yalen Reed averages 10.6 ppg while leading the team in rebounds with 5.4 per game.
  • Florida Tech enters the weekday matchup after an 82-62 setback to Nova Southeastern on Jan. 5. The Panthers saw Derek Murphy score a game-high 28 points with RJ Coil tallying a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
  • On the year, the Panthers see Murphy pace the team in scoreing with 21.8 ppg with Antonis Pefanis (16.2 ppg) and Coil (12.4 ppg) rounding out the double-figure scorers.
  • The Matchup: Both teams look to climb the SSC standings as the Lions average 73.2 points per game with the Panthers at 76.9. Despite the higher average, FIT allows 78.1 points per game to the Green and Gold's 76.2.
  • The Series: In the last 10 meetings, the Lions hold an 8-2 record with a 5-1 record under the direction of Coach Alexander. Last year, the teams split 1-1 after each team won on the road. Saint Leo won to end the year in FIT 74-72 where the Panthers won 88-83 to start the year in Saint Leo.
