TAMPA, Fla. – Three in a row for the Saint Leo men's basketball team, after taking down Tampa inside the Bob Martinez Athletics Center on the campus of the University of Tampa, 72-66 Wednesday night.

Three players scored in double-figures for Saint Leo (7-9, 4-4 SSC) led by
Kyran McClure, who notched his third straight 20-plus point game with 23 points against the Spartans.
Ty Forman tallied 14 points off the bench for the Lions as
Isaiah Hill scored 12.

Tampa (9-7, 3-5 SSC) saw three score in double-figures as well led by Anthony Gamble who notched a team-high 22 points. Alberto Moreno was second on the team with 15 points, just ahead of Freddy Ibrahim with 13.

How It Happened
- Tampa came out of the gates on their home court with a 9-2 run to the 16:53 mark. Saint Leo closed to within two, 13-11 with 12:14 to play after Daniel Duarte drained a three and Rusty Moorer laid it in.
- The Spartans flipped the script and sprinted out to a 22-11 lead with under 10 minutes to play in the opening half.
- Two Gintaras Bartaskas free throws knotted the game up at 26-26 with 3:53 to play before the Lions took a four-point lead, 30-26 at the 2:45 mark on two Ty Forman free throws.
- Both teams played close down to the final horn after a 33-33 tie. UT headed into the break with a one-point lead, 35-34, after two free throws.
- Bartaskas came out and drained a three to push the Lions ahead 37-35 as the Green and Gold would run out to a five-point lead, 43-38 capped by Isaiah Hill's free throw.
- Tampa would battle to tie things, 48-48, before both teams played neck and neck for the next three minutes before Kyran McClure drained a deep three to make it 55-54 Saint Leo with 7:55 to play.
- UT would run again to tie things, 57-57, on a three pointer with 6:47 to play.
- Saint Leo would go on a 6-0 run to take a 65-59 lead to the 3:49 media timeout. Ty Forman, Pape Ngom and Kyran McClure would all tally two points in the run for the Green and Gold.
- The Lions would remain a step ahead of the Spartans and go on for the 72-66 win.
