Eight Saint Leo Swimmers Named to CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

Two men and six women honored by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America

NORFOLK, Va. – The Saint Leo men's and women's swimming teams earned a combined eight honors on the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America teams after posting grade point averages above 3.5 and either competing at the Swimming and Diving Championships or achieving a "B" time standard this past season.
 
Hunter Bains of the men's team and Natalia Garriock, Karina Kolb, Zofia Pilarska and Matalin Shaver from the women's team were all first team selections while Milosz Mikicin from the men and Sidney Martin and Maftuna Tuhtasinova of the women earned honorable mention honors. Those who competed at the National Championships appeared on the first team while those who achieved the "B" standard took home honorable mention awards.
 
The five first team selections were among 1,069 honorees from the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA while Saint Leo's three honorable mention selections were joined by 1,134 others on the list.
 
A total of 47 swimmers from the Sunshine State Conference appeared on the list led by Nova Southeastern's 15 selections including eight on the women's side and seven for the men. Saint Leo was second among the women for first team selections with four as the Lions only trailed Tampa in that category who had five. Tampa also led the men with four first team selections followed by Florida Tech who had three.
