SAINT LEO, Fla. – Head coach
Tony Paris of the Saint Leo men's soccer program announced the 2018 schedule Thursday morning. The Lions will face 16 opponents including hosting six home contests and traveling for 10 others. Four of Saint Leo's opponents finished the season among the top-25 national rankings in 2017.
The Lions will open the season with a pair of neutral site matches at Rollins College against Regis, out of Colorado, and nationally-ranked Wingate August 30 and September 1, respectively. After a road trip to regional opponents Montevallo and West Florida, the Lions will open up their home schedule with Sunshine State Conference foe Embry-Riddle on Friday, September 15.
A top-10 finisher in last season's national-rankings Palm Beach Atlantic is next on the ledger for Saint Leo on the road. The Lions then return home for a battle with Florida Southern on September 22. The match will kick-off a three-match home swing as the Lions face Trinity Baptist (9/26) and Florida Tech (9/29) on the home turf.
A short trip to Eckerd (10/3) opens up October before the Lions welcome in the 2017 national runner-up Lynn on October 6. A match at Flagler on October 10 marks the final non-conference match of the year as the Lions end the season with three of four on the road. Saint Leo will travel to Nova Southeastern (10/13), Barry (10/20) and Tampa (10/24) while hosting Rollins (10/17).
