SAINT LEO, Fla. – Senior
Amanda Jakobsson of the Saint Leo women's golf team was today (May 31) named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association Division II All-American First Team according to a release by the WGCA. Jakobsson was one of six Sunshine State Conference golfers on the 10-person first team. It was also announced that Jakobsson earned All-South Region honors as well from the WGCA.

The Gothenburg, Sweden native, was an Honorable Mention All-American as both a sophomore and a junior but moves to the First Team following her final season.

Jakobsson led the Lions this season with 29 rounds played at all 11 events with a low average of 74.31. She finished in the top-10 at nine events, including the NCAA Division II Super Regionals, with five top-5 appearances and three medalist honors.

She is the team leader in low 36-hole round at 140 while she is tied for the low round turned in with a 68. She has six under-par rounds while shooting even-par or better for 12 of her 29 rounds on the season.

Her round of 68 came at the UNC Pembroke Battle at Old South event in the fall portion of the season. She holds three of the top-five lowest rounds this season for the Lions with her previously mentioned 68, a 69 and a round of 70.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 600 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
