Box Score 2 SAINT LEO, Fla. – The 13
th-ranked Saint Leo University baseball team split its final doubleheader of the season Saturday afternoon as the Lions took a 5-1 decision over the visiting Embry-Riddle Eagles during game one and fell 10-7 in the nightcap. Saint Leo honored its 11 seniors prior to first pitch of the doubleheader in an on-field ceremony. The Lions finish the regular season with a school record 21 Sunshine State Conference victories surpassing the previous high of 17 set back in 1984.

Head coach
Rick O'Dette led Saint Leo to one of its best regular seasons in program history in just his first season at the helm. The 38 wins rank seventh in program history while the .776 win percentage is the second best all-time behind 1984's .780 win percentage.

Saint Leo ends the regular season with a 38-11 overall record and a 21-9 SSC mark. The Eagles close out the year at 20-30 and 9-21 in league play.

Senior
Lane Stancil and junior
Peyton Isaacson led the way offensively for the Lions on the day as they each had four hits and two RBI. Stancil went 3-for-3 in game one while going 1-for-4 in the second contest. Isaacson had two hits in each of the games including a 2-for-3 performance in game one and a 2-for-5 effort in game two.

Redshirt-junior
Shane Haight took home the win on the mound in the 5-1 victory as he pitched 8.0 innings with five strikeouts and no walks. He scattered four hits while allowing just one run. Isaacson closed out the game pitching the final inning with one hit allowed. He also closed out the second game on the mound coming in for the final out while allowing one hit.

Freshman
McCabe Sargent suffered the loss in game two. He saw 4.0 innings of work while striking out three and allowing five runs on 11 hits.

Junior
Brett Coffel had a pair of extra-base hits during game two with both a RBI double and an RBI triple coming of his bat. Sophomore
Amir Wright and senior
Zach Scott each picked up doubles on the day while Isaacson blasted his 13
th homerun of the season.

The Lions jumped out early on the Eagles in game one as Isaacson hit a two-run blast to right field on the very first pitch he saw. Saint Leo would add runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth for its final tally of five while Embry-Riddle scored a single run in the fourth.

The second game saw the Eagles explode for 20 hits and 10 runs. The Lions countered with 10 hits and seven scores. The Eagles took a 2-1 lead in the second and held the advantage the rest of the way. The Eagles opened up a 5-1 lead in the fourth but Saint Leo cut it to 6-4 in the sixth and then 6-5 in the seventh before a four-run ninth opened things up again. Saint Leo threatened in the ninth as they brought the tying run to the plate but the Eagles shut the door to secure their 20
th win of the season.
