SAINT LEO, Fla. – Having won just five faceoffs all day, the No. 6 Saint Leo men's lacrosse team needed one faceoff win in overtime to give themselves the offensive push to start the sudden goal period. Saint Leo saw just that as the period started with a faceoff win heading towards goal.
Ethan Ticehurst won the faceoff and ripped a shot on goal, scoring the game-winning goal, allowing Saint Leo to win 12-11, six-seconds into the period.

Ethan Ticehurst poked the ball through the legs of the Spartans' faceoff guy before scooping it up heading towards goal. Ticehurst streaked down the middle of the box and blew the ball past the goalie for the game-winning goal.

Jake Gilmour paced the Green and Gold attack scoring four goals and dishing out one assist ahead of
Kyle Pauwels' two goals and two assists, and
Matt Shand's two goals.Â

With two goals in the game,
Kyle Pauwels became the lone single season goal leader now at 52 this season. Pauwels' two goals marked his 100th and 101st goals of his two-year Green and Gold career.

Thomas Tatarian racked up 15 saves against the Spartans to help keep the Lions in the game. Tatarian tallied three saves in the first and second periods before four in the third and five in the fifth.
