MELBOURNE, Fla. – No. 9 Saint Leo Lions bettered the No. 22 Florida Institute of Technology Panthers on Tuesday in a Sunshine State Conference women's tennis match up. The win raised the Lions' overall record to 13-5, 4-3 in the SSC.
"We had a slow start today but were able to get out of a fun and get the lead in doubles," said head coach
Chad Berryhill.

Madeleine Gauthier handed in an 8-4 final while no. 2
Marta Vicens Miquel and
Andrada Gordan got it done, 8-6.
"Florida Tech is a gritty team," continued Berryhill. "They made us work in singles but we kept our focus to get five-of-six of the singles matches."

Marta Vicens Miquel, rolled out a 6-4, 6-1 win. No. 3
Maja Pindelska (6-4, 6-1), no. 4
Madeleine Gauthier (6-2, 3-6, 10-5), no. 5
Fabiola Cardenas (6-1, 6-1) and
Andrada Gordan (6-1, 6-4) dished out the remaining single match wins for the Lions.
