MELBOURNE, Fla. – Trailing 1-0 after seven innings, No. 17 Saint Leo continues to score late in ball games to win where the Lions scored three runs in the eighth to hold onto a 3-2 win on the road against Florida Tech. The Green and Gold open the Sunshine State Conference series with a win and improve to 30-8, 13-6 SSC.

Florida Tech took a 1-0 lead after two innings before the Lions scored three in the top of the eighth, holding off the Panthers in the bottom of the eighth for a 3-2 victory.

Jared Morello picked up three of the Lions' nine hits, where
Amir Wright,
Peyton Isaacson,
Brett Coffel,
Lane Stancil and
Derek Gibree each tallied one hit.

Jordan Pendleton earned his sixth win of the season after going seven strong innings allowing just one run on six hits with four strikeouts.
Drew Tumbelty came in and picked one inning allowing one run on a solo home run with two strikeouts.
Peyton Isaacson notched his 11th win of the season going one inning with no hits, no runs and one strikeout.

In the eighth inning,
Amir Wright singled to second scoring
Lane Stancil, to tie the game at 1-1.
Jared Morello doubled to right center scoring Wright and
Derek Gibree for a 3-1 lead.

The Panthers saw a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth to cut it to 3-2. The Lions saw a runner get on in the ninth but saw hopes of insurance come up short.

With a runner on, and one out, Isaacson shut the door on the Panthers with a strikeout and a groundout to end the game, stranding a runner at third.

Saint Leo and Florida Tech return to the field on April 21 at 3pm for a doubleheader.
