ST. PETERBURG, Fla. – The No. 9 Saint Leo women's tennis team shut down Eckerd 9-0 on Wednesday. The Sunshine State Conference win raised the Lions' overall record to 15-5, 6-3 in the SSC.
No. 21, no.1 doubles,
Marta Vicens Miquel and
Andrada Gordan and no. 2 doubles,
Kristyna Jurkova and
Sophie Vlietstra both handed in an 8-1 final. No. 3
Madeleine Gauthier and
Fabiola Cardenas earned an 8-2 win for the sweep.
No. 29, no. 1 singles,
Marta Vicens Miquel posted a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win. No. 6
Sophie Vlietstra joined her with a stainless 6-0, 6-0 performance.

Fabiola Cardenas (6-2, 6-0) and no. 5
Andrada Gordan (6-0, 6-3) completed the team sweep.
The Lions close out the regular season at home on Saturday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. hosting the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish. Before the match, Saint Leo will celebrate and honor its graduating senior,
Andrada Gordan.
