SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No. 9 Saint Leo women's tennis team swept Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday in the Lions' home finale. The day began celebrating graduating senior,
Andrada Gordan and ended with a 9-0 decision. The Sunshine State Conference win raised the Lions' overall record to 16-5, 7-3 in the SSC.
"We fought well today," said head coach
Chad Berryhill. "With one player down, it is always challenging to mix the doubles teams. So, I thought we handled the adjustments well. In the singles, we just fought hard because we are getting ready for play in the conference. We know we will have to play our best tennis in the next two weeks."

Kristyna Jurkova and Sophie Vliestra (8-3) and no. 3
Madeleine Gauthier and
Fabiola Cardenas (8-5) completed the doubles sweep.
In singles action,
Kristyna Jurkova was nothing short of spectacular finishing no. 2 opponent 6-0, 6-0.
No. 29, no. 1 Marta Vicen Miquel handed in a 6-3, 6-1 decision while no. 3
Madeleine Gauthier registered a 6-2, 6-1 win. No. 4
Fabiola Cardenas snagged a 6-0, 6-3 final followed by no. 6 Sophie Vlieststra with a 6-1, 6-4 win.

Andrada Gordan showcased a 6-1, 6-2 decision during her senior day.
The Sunshine State Conference will host the 2018 Championships in Bradenton, Florida starting on April 19.
