WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – No. 18 Saint Leo Baseball completed its third Sunshine State Conference series sweep with two come-from-behind wins over Palm Beach Atlantic with a 7-4 game one and a 7-5 game two.
Peyton Isaacson picked up two saves on the day moving to 10 on the year.

The win pushes the Green and Gold's record to 26-5, 9-3 Sunshine State Conference where Palm Beach Atlantic fell to 18-14, 7-8 SSC. With the three wins in the series, Saint Leo surpassed the wins total from 2017 and the nine SSC victories surpassed the number of conference wins from a year ago as well.

Joey Antonopoulos and
Drew Tumbelty each took the win on the day where Antonopoulos won game one moving to 4-1 on the year, as Tumbelty moves to 4-0 after game two's win.

Tyler Bauman and
Shane Haight got the start for the Lions, respectively, where Bauman went 4.1 with eight hits, four runs and four strikeouts. Haight went 5.0 innings, allowing seven hits and five runs and three stirkeouts.

Isaacson tallied two strikeouts in 1.1 innings of work with one strikeout in game one in the one batter faced where he recorded one of the three to close out the second game.

On the day, Isaacson went 4-for-8 from the plate with two doubles and two RBI where
Lane Stancil and
Zach Scott both went 4-for-9. Scott's three RBI paced the team on the day.
Brett Coffel and
Chase Turner each hit a home run between the two games as
Aaron Portee and
Jake Sims each smacked a double.

Game One - #18 Saint Leo 7, Palm Beach Atlantic 4
Palm Beach Atlantic got on the board first with one run in the bottom of the first before the Lions tied things up in the second. PBA retook the lead with two in the fourth and one in the fifth for a 4-1 lead heading to the seventh.

The Lions used six unanswered runs to come from behind and pick up win No. 25 on the year.

Peyton Isaacson to score where Isaacson's sacrifice fly to left field and Scott's two-run single allowed Stancil,
Derek Gibree and
Amir Wright to all score in the seventh.

Despite hitting into a double play in the eighth inning, the Lions saw
Aaron Portee cross the plate for the sixth run.

A wild pitch in the ninth inning saw Isaacson score the final run of the game. Antonopoulos would come out for the ninth where he got the first out with a strikeout looking. After giving up a single, Antonopoulos got the next batter to line out to Gibree at shortstop before a walk. With the tying run coming to the plate, Isaacson moved from catcher to pitcher and struck out the Sailfish batter to close the door on three straight pitches.

Game Two - #18 Saint Leo 7, Palm Beach Atlantic 5
With the series locked up, Saint Leo came out in the top of the first and took a quick 2-0 lead after
Chase Turner took the 1-2 count deep to left field for a two-run jack, scoring Isaacson.

Palm Beach Atlantic finally got on the board in the fourth with a groundout, making it Lions 2, Sailfish 1.

Saint Leo added two more in the sixth as
Brett Coffel took his 0-1 pitch to left field for a two-run shot; Saint Leo 4-1.

PBA's bats finally came alive with four runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 5-4 advantage. The Sailfish started it off with a double followed by three straight singles to make it 4-3 Saint Leo. After a pitching change, a sacrifice fly tied the game at 4-4 before a single through the right side score the go-ahead run for the Sailfish. On the play, PBA attempted to take another run but
Aaron Portee gunned the runner at the plate to keep it 5-4.

Saint Leo scored three unanswered runs to complete the come back with one in the seventh off an Isaacson single and two in the eighth.
Jake Sims stepped in the box with two outs and laced a double down the right field line to score
Lane Stancil from first to push the Lions ahead 6-5.

Will Gray came in to pinch run for the Green and Gold in the eighth and came in on a sacrifice fly to left field from
Amir Wright.

With a save opportunity,
Peyton Isaacson moved from first to the mound and netted the Sailfish with a pop up, ground out and a strikeout to earn his 10th save of the year.Â

Saint Leo returns to action on April 6-7 when the Lions host Nova Southeastern at Thomas B. Southard Stadium. First pitch Friday is slated for 6 p.m.
