WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Saint Leo men's basketball traveled to Palm Beach Atlantic and earned its first road win of the 2018-19 season 71-66 over the Sailfish. The Lions move to 1-1 in the Sunshine State Conference with the road victory.

Yalen Reed paced the Green and Gold with 20 points and 15 points, respectively. Saint Leo (3-5, 1-1 SSC) fought Palm Beach Atlantic in a close contest after leading by two at the break and holding an 11-point lead with 10 minutes to play.

McClure finished the night going 4-for-11 from the field but earned a majority of his points from the free throw line, going 10-for-11. Reed tallied his points from the free throw line as well going 5-for-6 in leading the Lions to a 27-for-35 night from the charity stripe.

Palm Beach Atlantic (1-6, 0-2 SSC) was paced by De'Ondre Jackson who notched 20 points ahead of Malek Barber's 10 points.

How It Happened
- The two teams fought back and forth or the first 10 minutes of action before PBA claimed a 20-12 with 8:17 to play.
- Saint Leo cut the deficit to one point, 23-22 with 5:31 to go in the opening half before tying things at 33-33 with a minute remaining.
- Ty Forman pushed the Green and Gold ahead 35-33 at the break with two free throws.
- The Lions came out of the break and pushed their lead to seven, 42-35 capped by an Isaiah Hill dunk.
- Saint Leo continued to push the lead up to double-digits with 12 minutes of action remaining and holding a three-possession lead going into the final three minutes of action.
- The Sailfish cut it to one point, 67-66, with 35-ticks left before the Lions saw Kyran McClure go 4-for-4 from the free throw line down the stretch to seal the win for the Lions, 71-66.
