SAINT LEO, Fla. – The annual Gulf South Conference vs Sunshine State Conference Challenge will highlight the season opening tournament where the Saint Leo men's basketball team travels to Tampa to take on GSC opponents Alabama-Huntsville and Montevallo.

The Lions tip off the season Nov. 10 against Alabama-Huntsville at 1 p.m. inside the Bob Martinez Athletics Center on the campus of the University of Tampa. Saint Leo will continue the opening weekend against Montevallo at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10.

After the most recent exhibition game in Houston, Texas against Rice, the Lions will start the regular season against the Chargers with five newcomers and nine returners. Against the Chargers last year, three players scored in double-figures in the last meeting on Nov. 11, 2017 in an 82-80 loss in Tampa.

Isaiah Hill,
Kyran McClure and
Daniel Duarte all scored in double-figures, with Hill notching a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. McClure scored 11 points off the bench where Duarte followed with 10 himself.
Junior Searcy was one point shy of double-digits with nine points for the Green and Gold.

After the opening weekend, Saint Leo will host the Saint Leo Classic inside the Marion Bowman Activities Center on Nov. 16-17 while welcoming in SSC foe Tampa to take on West Florida and Auburn-Montgomery.
