TAMPA, Fla. – For the first time this season the No. 8 Saint Leo men's swimming team suffered a pair of setbacks this past weekend at the hands of No. 12 University of Tampa. The Spartans defeated the Lions 100.5-64.5 on Saturday before topping Saint Leo 108-59 on Sunday.

The Saint Leo men won four individual events and a pair of relays against the Spatans.

Both juniors
Henrik Dahrendorff and
Matija Rafaj won two individual events each. Dahrendorff won the 100 breaststroke on Saturday and the 200 breaststroke on Sunday while Rafaj won the 1,650 freestyle on Saturday and the 500 freestyle on Sunday.

Dahrendorff touched in 56.17 to win the 100 breast and then clocked in at 2:06.72 in the 200. Rafaj turned in an NCAA "B" standard qualifying time in the 1,650 as he won in 16:01.77. He then touched in 4:37.28 in the 500 a day later.

Christian Cioffi to win the 200 medley relay in 1:33.02 for the Lions first win at the event. Cioffi then joined sophomore

Luka Vulic in the 400 freestyle relay as the Lions won in 3:04.90.

The Lions will be back in action Dec. 15-18 for a four-day Spartan Invite hosted by the University of Tampa in Clearwater. Â
