Women's Basketball Notes
  • Saint Leo's fourth quarter surge fell short on Saturday at home against Embry-Riddle, 66-62. Freshmen Alani Gallagher tallied her second double double (18 pts., 11 RB). Junior Izabell Skoogh scored season-high 12-points.
  • Gallagher leads the Lions scoring averaging 8.6 points per game shooting .473 FG%, .549 FT%. She also leads Saint Leo off the glass averaging 5.8 rebounds per game.
  • Gina Brierley enters the game averaging 3.8 assists per game, 8.4 points shooting .422 FG%.
  • Tampa snapped its five-game losing skid on Saturday at home against Nova Southeastern (76-69). Sophomore Aliyah Abney led the Spartans with a new career-high of 23 points.
  • Tyghter Staja leads the Spartans season in scoring and rebounds. She enters the mid-week contest averaging 12.8 points per game, 8.2 rebounds per game.
  • Karma Jeremie also enters the game averaging double figures with 11.6 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game.
  • Last meeting, Tampa downed Saint Leo 75-50 in the Marion Bowman Activities Center on Wednesday, November 29.

Men's Basketball Notes
  • Saint Leo enters the mid-week contest with a 10-14 overall record and a 6-7 mark in the SSC after a 75-60 win over Embry-Riddle on Jan. 27. 
  • The Lions saw DeAndre King record a double-double in the win over the Eagles with a career-high 14 rebounds, 13 defensive, and 24 points, which tied his career-high. King shot 61.5% (8-13) from downtown including a 7-for-8 mark in the second half alone, the best three-point shooting half in program history. King was joined by Junior Searcy in double-figures with 19 points. Searcy notched seven rebounds while Drago Popovic added a 7-and-7 performance (points-rebounds). 
  • Kyran McClure dished out a career-best 11 assists on the night to help the Lions to win their 10th game of the season. 
  • After his performance on the week, DeAndre King was named the SSC Defensive Player of the Week, where he hauled in 19 total rebounds, 18 of which were on the defensive end.
  • On the year, King and Searcy are tied for points per game at 12.6 where Searcy edges King in rebounds per game at 4.6 to 4.2. Isaiah Hill leads the team in rpg with 5.1 while he is third in scoring average with 12.1 points per game. Pape Ngom leads the team in blocks with 21 on the year, just ahead of Searcy's 19 and Hill's 16.
  • Tampa enters Wednesday's matchup with a 7-12 record and a 3-10 mark in the SSC. 
  • The Spartans are on a six-game skid including their last loss at home against Nova Southeastern, 87-77 on Jan. 27. Tampa saw four starters and one reserve score in double-figures in the loss where Pat Bacon led the way with 23 points. Mekhi Biffle (16), Anthony Gamble (14), Marcel Robinson (13) and Duke Shelton (10) were the other four in double-figures. Shelton capped off his double-double with 10 rebounds where Biffle was one shy for his double-double. 
  • On the year, Bacon paces the team in scoring with 20.5 points per game while Robinson (15.1 ppg) and Shelton (13.7 ppg) round out the double-digit averages. Shelton averages a double-double with 11.4 rebounds per game. 
  • MATCHUP: The Lions hold a 1-0 season series lead after a 68-64 win on Nov. 29. For the Spartans in the road loss, Shelton recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds where Robinson (14) and Bacon (11) joined him in double-figures. For the Lions, Searcy led the way with 18 points while Hill (13) and Tyreece Brice (12) rounded out double-digits for the Green and Gold.
