SAINT LEO, Fla. –
Natalia Garriock's record breaking "B" Cut in the 200 Yard Butterfly on Friday's senior day against Tampa was nothing short of fitting to close out her career in the Marion Bowman Aquatics Center. The three-time NCAA Qualifier, All-American from Duncan, British Columbia reset Saint Leo's record to 2:03.30. As a team, the Lions dropped a 156-106 decision, moving their overall record to 4-2.
Garriock earned a sweep on the day, swimming in the 200 Yard Butterfly (2:03.30), 100 Yard Butterfly (56.68) and the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, made up by Garriock,
Annie Lindstrom,
Matalin Shaver and
Zofia Pilarska (3:35.19).
Annie Lindstrom added a win in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 24.05 to her day.
Maftuna Tuhtasinova swept all three of her events. The junior from Tashkent, Uzbekistan won the 100 Yard Backstroke (59.09), 200 Yard Backstroke (2:06.80) and the 200 Yard Individual Medley (1:11.11).
The Lions return to the pool tomorrow (Saturday, January 27) at Florida Tech starting at 2:00 p.m. to close out their regular season.
