Women’s Basketball snap losing streak in 57-47 comeback win over PBA

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's basketball team showcased a 57-47 comeback win over the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish in the Marion Bowman Activities Center on Saturday. The Lions' Sunshine State Conference win snapped the program's five-game losing skid.

Nikira Hooks sparked the offense, showcasing an 18-point game shooting 6-9 (.667) including five three-pointers going 5-7 (.714) around the circle. Alani Gallagher tallied a double double scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds.

Layups by Alani Gallagher and Bernard combined with a pair of free throws by Gallagher handed the Lions a 10-point cushion with 3:55 remaining.   • Nkiru Anyagaligbo and Hannah Grim each showcased double doubles. Grim led scoring with 18 points, 10 rebounds. Anyagaligbo tallied 16 points, 17 rebounds.
  • Team shot a .261 percent from the field (18-69), .500 (8-16) from the free throw line.
  • The loss breaks a two-game winning streak for the Sailfish.

On Wednesday, January 23 the Lions head to Florida Southern for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff in the program's second time facing the Mocs.
