Lions Ledger: Saint Leo takes on Tampa on the hardwood Wednesday

Women's Basketball takes on the Spartans at 5:30 pm with the men's game to follow, approximately at 7:30 pm

Saint Leo's November schedule has handed the Lions a four-game losing skid after a 71-47 loss at regional defending champs, West Florida on Sunday, November 26.
On the season, senior Ragen Dotson leads the Lions offense averaging 10.5 points a game, shooting 31.7% from the field, 37.0% from beyond the arch, 86.7% from the FT line. In addition, she has been a defensive force with 6 steals and 10 blocks.
Nikira Hooks is averaging 5.7 rebounds per game for the Lions, shooting 40.5% from the field, 70.6 FT%
The Spartans holds a two-game winning streak, after defeating Nyack (52-33) and Anderson (72-53) last week
Tampa offense is led by Staja Tyghter averaging 12.3 points a game shooting 48.3% from the field, 41.2% in three-point attempts. Tyghter also leads the Spartans off the glass with 9.2 rebounds per game.
Other Spartan shooters include Karma Jeremie averaging 10.7 points per game, Faith Sanders enters averaging 9.0 points per game, 12.5 points against SSC competition (Eckerd and Nova Southeastern). Emily Eshoo has put away 11 from downtown shooting 39.3 3FG%, going 8-8 on the charity stripe.

Saint Leo returns to conference play after playing three non-conference games in four days. The Lions defeated Midwestern State on Nov. 24 (88-84) to open play at the Terrace Hotel Thanksgiving Classic before dropping a close one to No. 13 Le Moyne on Nov. 25 (91-82). The Green and Gold wrapped up their road trip with a trip to Hampton, Va. to take on NCAA DI Hampton, falling 72-56.
Isaiah Hill continues to pace the Lions in scoring with 12.3 points per game, edging out Junior Searcy at 12.1 ppg. Tyreece Brice and DeAndre King average 11.9 and 11.5 ppg to round out the double-digit averages.
Hill leads the team in rebounding with 5.5 per game while swiping a team high 23 steals on the season. Brice is the team leader in assists with 47.
Tampa enters at 3-3 after snapping a three-game skid with a 79-68 win over Keiser on Nov. 25 in St. Petersburg at the Eckerd Tournament. The Spartans opened the season up with back-to-back overtime wins over North Alabama (90-81) and Ala.-Huntsville (102-96) before falling to Eckerd (65-49), Nova Southeastern (92-69), and Pittsburg State (86-78).
Pat Bacon paces the Spartan offense averaging 24.8 points per game on 44.6-percent shooting from the field. Bacon is followed by Marcel Robinson and Duke Shelton at 12.3 ppg.
Shelton averages a double-double with 13.8 rebounds per game as well as his 12.3 ppg.
