Game Recap: Women's Basketball | | Christy Lear

Women's basketball falls in road SSC showdown

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The second seeded Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Embry-Riddle Eagles protected their home court with five shooters hitting double digits on Saturday, November 18. The 83-54 loss moves the Lions record to 1-3 overall, 0-2 in the SSC.

"The program isn't in a good place right now and it is my job to fix it," said head coach Anthony Crocitto. "After a spirited 37 minutes at home against Florida Southern, we were awful after an up and down first half today.

"There were a couple positives in defeat. We saw a rookie play big minutes in Savannah Scott and newly appointed captain Nikira Hooks led many successful possessions on both ends.

"We will work to figure this out ASAP and be ready for our home game against Flagler. I need to lead this group in a simpler manner and foster better possessions and hungrier defense," concluded Crocitto.
