WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's tennis team survived Friday's first day of competition at the Rollins College C.L. Varner Memorial Invitational with its top singles and doubles players proceeding along their championship brackets.
Vincent Suillerot and
Bruno Babic were both still in championship contention in the A and B Flight singles brackets respectively, while
Aurel Ciocanu and Willem van den Akker both remained alive on the championship side of the C and D Flights.
In doubles competition, the duo of Suillerot and
James Defusto won their matches in the A Flight, as did Babic/
Francisco Aparicio.
Competition in the Varner Memorial Invitational resumes on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 8:00 a.m.
