Tennis Notes
  • Tennis travels to Winter Park, Fla. to compete in the C.L. Varner Invitational that was rescheduled from Oct. 6-8. 
  • The were in action after Thomas Grinberg took third at the ITA Oracle Cup on Oct. 14 with a 6-0, 7-5 win over his Washburn opponent. 
  • Grinberg won his opening set on Oct. 12 6-4, 6-4 before falling in the semifinals on Oct. 13 6-2, 6-7 (1), 2-6.
  • Both the women's team and men's team have players in action in the singles and doubles competition at the C.L. Varner Memorial Invitational.

#25 Volleyball Notes
  • Volleyball looks to improve on their season as of late after going 1-2 at the GSC/SSC Crossover. The Lions played three straight five-set matches, closing out the weekend with a 3-2 win over West Alabama. 
  • On the year, Ashley Quero paces the team with 168 kills, ahead of Victoria Omoregie at 155. Britt Sederholm needs two kills to eclipse the 100 kill mark for the season where Dallas Jasper needs four, standing at 96. 
  • Anna Garrett is the team leader in assists with 549 where Maddy Powell is second at 62. Kenya Kruglova holds the most digs on the team with 260 where Reggie Van Devender, Britt Sederholm and Anna Garrett are all over 100 with 142, 133, 108, respectively. 
  • Embry-Riddle enters at 8-7, 3-6 SSC and off a 3-0 sweep of Florida Tech to keeper their win streak alive at four straight matches. The Eagles took down the Panthers 25-17, 25-17, 25-13.
  • Melanie Canfield leads the Eagles on the year with 213 kills where Erika Barbour (134) and Theresa Jordan (131) follow. Alyssa Rudd has tallied 621 assists on the year to lead the team where Olivia Roa leads Embry-Riddle in digs at 364.

Volleyball vs FIT Notes
  • Florida Tech enters the weekend at 7-8, 2-7 SSC after falling to Embry-Riddle in three sets on Oct. 17. 
  • The Panthers host Eckerd on Oct. 20 before hosting the Lions. 
  • On the year Olivia Hersey is the lead in kills with 146 as Kelly Germain is close on her heels at 120. Kiersten Rosa and Sheila Villagrasa lead FIT in assists with 337 and 148, respectively. 
  • Four Panthers have surpassed the 100 dig mark where Kyra Atkinson, the team leader, has passed the 250 dig mark with 274. Villagrasa is second on the team with 166 where Rosa is third at 151 and Audrey Keenan is fourth with 108.

Women's Soccer Notes
  • Women's soccer enters their weekend match after winning in double-overtime on senior night on Oct. 18 against Rollins. Freshman Angelina Troche scored the first goal six minutes into the contest before senior Victoria Covas scored the game winner in her last contest at University Soccer Field at 104:58. 
  • Covas leads the team on the season in goals (4) and points (8) where the senior has ripped off 23 shots and 12 on frame from the front line. Rosie Young paces the team in assists with four. The goal against Rollins for Troche was the second of the season and puts her in second on the season ranks with four points. 
  • Both keepers for the Lions hold two wins on the year where Julia Ortiz stands at 2-4 with two shutouts and Megan Charlton at 2-3 with one shutout. Ortiz leads in minutes played (547:02) where Charlton leads in saves (35). Ortiz played the first six games before Charlton took over and has played the last five. 
  • Barry comes into the Saturday match and looks to continue rolling as the Bucs have won four straight including their most recent 3-1 win over #7 Nova Southeastern on Oct. 19.
  • The Bucs are led by Amanda Traynor with seven goals and 14 points where Molly Sharpe and Carissa Sanchez are tied for the lead in assists with three apiece.
  • Melanie Ziegner has played the most minutes in goal and owns a 6-2-2 record with five shutouts. Ziegner has 35 saves on the year and has allowed seven goals in the 10 games.

Men's Soccer Notes
  • Men's Soccer enters at 2-9-1, 1-6-1 SSC after falling to Rollins on Oct. 18. 
  • Tyler Palmer scored on a diving header in the 55th minute on a perfectly placed ball from Bryce Wilson
  • Guillaume Campos and Palmer lead the team with three goals apiece on the year for six points each. Till Lammertz remains the team leader in assists with two assists. 
  • In goal, Conor McElhinney and Wessel Berenschot have shared duties where McElhinney leads in minutes played (578:37), saves (28), record (2-3-1) and shutouts (1). 
  • Barry enters on a two-game win streak and sits at 3-5-2, 2-4-1. The Bucs defeated Johnson & Wales (Fla.) 4-0 on Oct. 17 for their most recent victory where prior to that they upset the #12 Florida Tech Panthers 2-1 on Oct. 14. 
  • On the year Toby Fura paces the Bucs with eight points on four goals. Jerrell Cato is second in points and first in assists with five and three, respectively. 
  • Between the posts, Marco Sordi leads the team with seven games played, 667:36 minutes of action, 36 saves, one shutout and holds a 2-4-1 record.
