Saint Leo upsets #17 Lynn on Senior Day

SAINT LEO, Fla. - While Saturday afternoon served as Senior Day for the Saint Leo men's lacrosse team, but it was a freshman's performance that lifted the Lions to victory over the No. 17-ranked Lynn University Fighting Knights, 11-5.

Freshman Justin Robinson, who entered the game with just two goals scored up to this point, went off for five goals for the Lions, including three-straight makes over the second and third periods, giving the Lions the momentum they needed.

As it was Senior Day, it was only fitting that Dylan Yonts, who tallied a goal and two assists against Lynn, broke the Saint Leo single season record for points, as he finished the game at 57. The record of 55 was set in 2010 by Kyle Marceau.

Also fitting, senior keeper Dave Moore broke the Saint Leo career record for wins by a keeper, moving his total to 31. The previous record was held by David Erdman, who hit 30 wins between the 2007-10 seasons.

Overall the Lions' seniors had an impressive day as Yonts tallied his goal and two assists, Chad Marino dished out two assists, while Matt Weller added one goal and one assist. On the face, Will Cothron was dominate, winning 12 of 16 attempts, adding five ground balls to his total. In net, Moore was playing as he drank from the fountain of youth, making saves left and right, totaling up 13, including six crucial ones in the final quarter.
