The Basics
Final Score: Saint Leo 22 | Lees-McRae 2
Location: University Turf Stadium | Saint Leo, Fla.
Records: Saint Leo 5-1 | Lees-McRae 1-4

How It Happened
1Q | The Lions opened with back-to-back early goals as senior Luke Stiebe, a long stick middie, received a beautiful pass from Gilmour off the opening face to give the Lions the lead. Directly off the next faceoff, Cothron, who won the faceoff, streaked down the field with the ball, scoring his first career goal. Despite the hot start, the Lions laid off the gas, and Lees-McRae saw Alec Molander score back-to-back goals to tie the game and end the first. | 2-2 |

2Q | Saint Leo realized they had gone back on their heels, and saw three younger faces get involved and initiate the offense. Sophomore Jason D'Aoust scored his third goal of the season off of a Vin Ferretti assist for just his third goal of the season. It was followed by fellow sophomore Anthony Visintin's second goal of the season, as he took the ball himself to record the score. Freshman Charlie Kurtenbach was hit with the pass by fellow freshman Mike McDonough, giving the Lions a 5-2 lead. The first half ended with pair of Yonts goals. His first came off a pass from freshman Dan Daley, while the second came off a cheeky play where Yonts saw a GB roll in front of him, the senior picked it up and gave a little flick between the legs to close out the half. | Saint Leo 7-2 |

3Q | The third quarter was an offensive onslaught for the Lions, as they tallied 10 goals in the period, from five different players. Matt Scharr added his first of the game, and he followed that up with an assist to Yonts just seconds later. Carter Dickson added his second goal of the season as Zach Lysyk hit him with the assists. Gilmour's passing abilities were proven in the third as he recorded the next seven assists on the next seven goals of the period. He hit Yonts with four of those assists, Scharr tallied the hat-trick after sending in two of Gilmour's passes, and Chad Marino scored a Man-Up goal from Gilmour's pass. | Saint Leo 17-2 |

4Q | Kurtenbach added another as he opened up the scoring for the Lions in the final period. Senior Joe Donnian recorded back-to-back goals, both off passes from Daley within seconds of each other. The Lions two leading assist givers were both given the opportunity to score in the final seconds of the game. Daley tallied his third goal of the season off a pass from Vin Ferretti, while Gilmour closed the game, appropriately off a pass from Daley. | Saint Leo 22-2 |
