Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Redshirt junior southpaw Dylan Collett fired seven-plus innings of shutout baseball to lead Saint Leo University to a 7-1 win over South Region-foe Palm Beach Atlantic, taking game one of a twinbill on Saturday at Rubin Park.

A walk-off single by Palm Beach Atlantic's Robert Campo in the bottom of the 10th scored Jake Summey and lifted the Sailfish to a 2-1 victory in game two, giving the two teams a split in the doubleheader.

Saint Leo evened its season record at 7-7, while Palm Beach Atlantic stayed above .500 with a 10-8 mark. The Lions have a quick turnaround before their next game on Monday, Feb. 29, when they host St. Anselm College in a 6:00 p.m. start at Thomas B. Southard Stadium.

Collett fanned six PBA batters over his seven-and-two-thirds innings on the mound, scattering seven hits with two walks without allowing an earned run to improve to 2-1.

The Lions jumped on the Sailfish early, putting up four runs in the first innings. Mike Mann doubled down the right field line to score Lane Stancil and Derek Gibree, while Zach Daley and Alex Mata plated additional runs later in the frame with RBI singles of their own. Saint Leo tacked on a fifth run in the second inning, when Chase Turner reached on a lead off infield single, was doubled over to third by Gibree, and scored on a throwing error by Sailfish pitcher Eric Russell.

Mann stroked RBI singles in the seventh and ninth innings to cap Saint Leo's scoring.

Palm Beach Atlantic plated its only run in the eighth on Justin Bilodeau's base hit to right center, driving in Kyle Simon.

Mann complete game one with four RBI on a 3-for-5 effort at the plate, while Daley, Sieber, Shane Williams, and Chase Turner each had a pair of hits.

Russell last five innings in the start for the Sailfish, surrendering eight hits and five runs, three earned, with only three strikeouts.

In game two, PBA's Campo had a two-out single to center field to score pinch runner Summey and lift the Sailfish to the 2-1 win extra-inning win. Summey was running for Peter Rivera, who reached on an error to start the bottom of the 10th inning.

PBA scored its first run in the fifth on a two-out base hit by Bobby Brennan, plating Noah Johnson.

Saint Leo responded in the top of the sixth. Sieber and Mann reached on back-to-back singles through the infield, chasing PBA starter Tyler Hawks. Sieber went to third on Daley's bunt, and came home on Alex Mata's base hit into center field. Mann was thrown out at third on the play, and Shane Williams grounded out to third allowing PBA to escape the inning.

Sieber and Mann each charted three hits in game two, with five other players recording one hit. The Lions hit just 1-for-14 with runners in scoring position during the second game of the doubleheader, leading to nine stranded Saint Leo base runners.

Mann went 6-for-9 on the day, with one run, a double, an RBI, and a walk. Sieber was nearly as impressive with a 5-for-9 ledger at the plate over Saturday's two games.

Saint Leo reliever Michael Dunnigan came on in the ninth for the Lions, allowing just one unearned run on one hit with two walks and a strikeout while getting tagged with the loss. Palm Beach Atlantic's Dominic Monda allowed just one Lion hit against four strikeouts in his two innings of relief work for the Sailfish, and picked up the win.
