SAINT LEO, Fla. -- The Saint Leo volleyball team fell to Rollins Friday night in Sunshine State Conference action. The Tars stunned the Lions 3-0 at Warden Arena.

How It Happened

• The Lions turned in a team 40 kills (13.33 kills per set) and senior Jillian Stolzenburg led the offensive front with 11 kills and a .409 clip. It was the fourth time this season the senior hit .400 or higher. Stolzenburg also added one solo block. 
• Anna Siruckova and Britt Sederholm each added eight kills. Sederholm added seven digs and one block while Siruckova chipped in two digs and two blocks, one solo. 
• Katie Adamson led the team with four blocks, half of the Lions team total, and tallied five kills. The senior has now surpassed the 150 kill mark this season with a season total of 151. 
• Outside hitters Hope Lemon and Avery Bradshaw each added three and two kills respectively. 
• Libero Jamee Townsend led the match with 17 digs while setter Ashlee Hodgskin collected her fourth double-double, with a season best 16 digs. 
• Set 1 | In an all out battle at the net, the Tars came out on top in the first set. While the Lions collected 12 kills in the first frame, just under their 13.57 kills per set season average, it's tough to compete against a team that hits .400 as a team and records just three hitting errors. Rollins had three attackers hit an errorless set and all three had clips of .500 or higher. The Lions had an early 4-3 lead but a 7-2 run by Rollins at 13-12 gave the Tars a 19-14 advantage. Saint Leo battled but eventually fell 25-18. 
• Set 2 | 17 kills in the second set for the Lions weren't enough. Siruckova collected four while Sederholm, Stolzenburg, and Adamson each added three. While the Lions offense was all cylinders, Rollins knocked down four team blocks. The Lions were down 9-11 but outscored the Tars 4-1 to tie the match 12-12. Rollins answered with a 5-0 run of its own for their biggest lead of the match at 17-12. In a decisive matter, Siruckova, Sederholm and Siruckova turned in back-to-back-to-back kills and came back within one point. Rollins continued to roll on offense for a 25-22 clinch. 
• Set 3 | In a rocky third set, Rollins held Saint Leo to a .083 attack percentage. The Lions turned in a single-set season high seven blocks, and forced the Tars to a .077 attack percentage. Saint Leo jumped to an early lead, but the Tars tied it back up at 12-12. While Saint Leo turned in dynamic plays, they couldn't find a spark. Rollins took the third and final set 25-23. 

Beyond the Box score

• This is just the fourth time this season the Lions have been swept. The Lions are 0-4 when starting the match down 0-2. 
• Saint Leo snapped its eight match win-streak for its first loss since Sept. 26. 

For the Tars

• Shannon McDonough led the match with 12 kills and a .321 attack percentage. McDonough entered the match averaging 2.45 kills per set, and turned in 4.0 kills per set. 
• Bri Civiero added nine kills at a .308 clip and Kianna Dieudonne chipped in seven kills and a .417 attack percentage. 
• MaryEllen Pole dished out 19 assists while April Jackson added 11. 
• Rebecca Wilson tallied 17 digs and added nine assists.

• The Lions will close out their two-match road swing Saturday at Embry-Riddle. Saint Leo will face the SSC provisional member in a crucial South Region match-up.
