Saint Leo University Athletics

Michael Hayeck joined the Saint Leo Athletic Department as the Manager of Athletic Communications in July of 2025.  

Before coming to Saint Leo, Hayeck served as a graduate assistant at McKendree University, a NCAA Division II member a part of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). While at McKendree he served as the main contact for men’s and women’s Swim and Dive, men’s and women’s Cross Country, men’s and women’s Track and Field, women’s lacrosse, beach volleyball, and men’s water polo. Hayeck also served as the primary social media contact for the NCAA during the 2024 DII Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.  

Hayeck is a 2023 graduate of Flagler College, earning his bachelor's degree in strategic communication and public relations and earned his MBA in digital marketing from McKendree University in 2025. While at both institutions Hayeck was a member of the cross country and track and field programs, being named to the Peach Belt Conference all sportsmanship team twice. He also was the student athlete advisory committee (SAAC) president and chairman of the Peach Belt Conference. Whilst at Flagler he served as an athletics communications intern during the 2022-23 school year.

Hayeck’s background working in sports extends outside of NCAA athletics as he held the position of creative content intern with the Cape Cod Baseball League in the summer of 2023. In this role Hayeck helped create strategies to help promote the league via various social media platforms and served as an on-field photographer and videographer.
