Katie Henriksen

Katie Henriksen, a former team captain at long-time Division III cross country power Wisconsin-La Crosse, joined the Saint Leo cross country and track program as a graduate assistant coach in August 2016.

"I'm ecstatic to have Katie join the cross country and track programs here at Saint Leo," said Kent Reiber, Saint Leo's head cross country and track coach. "She comes from a top-tier program and brings a first-hand understanding of the mental and physical commitment it takes to compete at a championship level. My hope is that she can play a key role in helping us forge that championship mentality here at Saint Leo as well."

A four-year member of the cross country team at UW-La Crosse, Henriksen completed her career by earning the Most Outstanding Teammate award and was an Honorable Mention All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) selection. As team captain, Henriksen was a member of a UW-La Crosse squad that ran to a ninth-place finish at the 2015 NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championship.

In track and field, Henriksen was named to the WIAC's Larry Zirgibel All-Sportsmanship Team at the 2016 WIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship, where the Eagles claimed their fifth consecutive women's team title.

A native of West Salem, Wis., Henriksen is a 2016 graduate of UW-La Crosse with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, including a minor in sustainable business.
