Saint Leo first-year head coach
Peter McGahey announced the addition of assistant coach Sarah
Leiby to his women's soccer coaching staff shortly after he took over the reins at Saint Leo.
Leiby, who most recently served as an assistant coach at Montana State University, brings with her four years of coaching in the NCAA Division II level.
On June 4, 2021, McGahey announced the promotion of Leiby as the program’s Associate Head Coach.

Leiby received the elite the United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30 honors in 2019-2020, which honors the top-15 male and female coaches under the age of 30 every year. In her two years with the Lions she helped McGahey establish his vision on the program in 2019 and then helped guide the team through a very tough 2020-21 campaign.
Coaching History
Leiby has spent two seasons as the assistant women's soccer coach at Montana State University. Before her stint in Montana, she was busy building the Black Hills State University women's soccer program during in its inaugural season in 2016. She holds both a United State Soccer Federation National "C" and "D" license and a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Goalkeeping Level III diploma.
Personal History
Before her coaching career,
Leiby competed at the NCAA Division I level as a goalkeeper at the University of Vermont. As a Catamount, she saw action in 25 games and started in 23 during her playing career. In 2011, she set a single-season record for minutes played by a goalkeeper with 1,693 and led the America East Conference in saves. She earned her bachelor's degree in environmental science in 2014 and was a three-time AEC Academic All-League selection.
A native of West Chester, Pennsylvania, she is a graduate of WC Bayard
Rustin high school in the Keystone State.
