Dave Phillips joined the Saint Leo women’s soccer coaching staff in 2019 as the Lions’ goalkeeper coach.
Phillips is a 21-year Coast Guard veteran that has been coaching in the Tampa Bay area for Florida Premier FC since 2008. In addition to coaching club soccer, Phillips is the J.W. Mitchell High School varsity girl's soccer coach.
He holds the United States Soccer Federation National “D” License, and United Soccer Coaches “National Diploma”.
Phillips obtained his bachelor's degree in physical education teaching education from the University of South Florida and is currently finishing his graduate work in sport science & soccer coaching through Ohio University.
A native of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., he played club soccer in his hometown while also competing for Arlington High School, where he was a member of the 1984 N.Y. High School State Championship Team.
He and his wife, Holly, who is a pediatric nurse, call Tampa home with their two children Olivia, who is a senior in high school, and Tate, who is a high school sophomore.
