AS A JUNIOR (2020)
Competed in one indoor meet and a pair of outdoor meets during the COVID-19 shortened season … posted PRs in all four races in which he ran … opened the season with a PR in the mile at the South Alabama Jaguar Invitational (2/2) at 5:16.60 … opened outdoor season with a PR in the 3,000m at 10:16.09 at the Spartan Invitational (2/21) … closed out the year with PRs in both the 800m and 1,500m at the Tampa Track Classic (2/28) … stopped the clock at 2:27.78 in the 800m and 4:52.51 in the 1,500m.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2019)
Competed in five meets for the Lions … earned one top-10 finish … part of the 10
th place 4x100m relay team at the USF Bulls Invitational (3/22) … made season debut with PRs in both the 100m (12.75) and 200m (26.42) at the Tampa Track Classic (3/1) … earned a PR in the 400m at the USF Bulls Invitational after rounding the track in 59.95.
AS A FRESHMAN (2018)
Competed in four meets for the Lions… ran the 200m at all four events… turned in season best time at the UT Track Classic (3/2) in 26.96… took 42
nd at the UT Track Classic, 47
th at the Coastal Carolina Invitational (3/9), 52
nd at the Embry-Riddle First Chance Last Chance meet (2/17) and 62
nd at the USF Bulls Invitational (3/22).
CAREER
Prepped at Holy Cross High School under head coach Josh Robinson… posted a career-best time of 12.99 in the 100m… ran a 26.66 in the 200m as well.
PERSONAL
Born May 30, in Cincinnati, Ohio... son of Calvin and Cari Covey... has a brother, Jeremy, and a sister, Carol... Mom, Cari, was a swimmer at Georgia Southern University... lists hobbies as going to the beach, being outside, being active and working out... believes best assets to the team are his willingness to do anything that will help better the team and will put all of his effort in every task that is given to him... favorite teams include the Baltimore Ravens and Golden State Warriors... favorite athletes are Steve Prefontaine, Conor McGregor and Steph Curry.
