Former Saint Leo University men's swimmer Jose DeJesus returned to the University campus in August 2016 as a graduate assistant coach, and will return  for his third season in 2018-19 to work alongside his former coach and mentor Paul Mangen.

DeJesus was a member of the Saint Leo men's swimming squad in 2013-14 and 2014-15. He was the mainstay of the Lions' medley relay teams in the breaststroke and as a freestyle sprint specialist.

A native of Dorado, Puerto Rico, DeJesus was a team captain during his senior season and was a men's swimming representative on Saint Leo's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). He graduated from Saint Leo in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in management.
