Deleva was named head coach of the Cross Country in July of 2024, the first head coach named alongside with the reinstatement of the program at Saint Leo. Deleva, a 2018 graduate of Saint Leo, is leading the comeback of what is a historic program for the school.

As an athlete, Deleva spent his whole cross country career at Saint Leo University. He earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country All-South Region and All-Sunshine State Conference honors in his sophomore, junior, and senior years. As a senior in 2017, he competed in eight events, recorded three top-10 finishes, and placed third at the SSC Championships with a season-best 8K time of 24:29.0. In his junior year (2016), he was the only runner on his team to score in all seven races, finishing fourth at the SSC Championships and 19th at the NCAA South Region Championship. During his sophomore season (2015), he was the team’s top finisher in multiple meets, placing eighth at the NCAA South Region Championship and running the second-fastest 10K time in program history (31:36.1) at the NCAA Championship. On the track Deleva recorded personal bests of 31:56.82 in the 10,000m and 14:50.36 in the 5000m.
