Joe Nudo

Assistant Athletic Director, Strength and Conditioning

Joe Nudo, a veteran Olympic sports performance coach with experience at schools in the Big Ten, SEC, and ACC, enters his fifth year as Saint Leo's head strength and conditioning coach.

Nudo came to Saint Leo from Northwestern University, where he served as assistant director of Sports Performance for the Wildcat volleyball, wrestling, and baseball teams since 2011. He previously served as assistant strength and conditioning coach at Eastern Washington University during part of the 2010-11 academic year, working with the Eagles' track and field/cross country, and men's and women's basketball programs.

Prior to accepting the position at Eastern Washington, Nudo worked on the strength and conditioning staff at the University of Arkansas from 2008 to 2010. He was a graduate assistant for the 2008-09 and 2009-10 academic years, coordinating the strength, speed, and conditioning programs for the Razorback men's track and field, men's golf, and women's swimming and diving programs. Nudo then remained on staff for the Fall 2010 semester as an assistant strength and conditioning coach, and additionally worked directly with the women's soccer and men's tennis teams.

Nudo began his career as an intern at North Carolina State University during the Spring 2008 semester, while completing requirements for his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Western Illinois University.  He received his Master of Science in Kinesiology from Arkansas in May 2010.

He holds certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and is a member of the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
