U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) South Region Athlete of the Year… U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-South Region honoree… 2017 NCAA South Region Individual Champion… Sunshine State Conference Runner of the Year… All-Sunshine State Conference selection… 2017 Sunshine State Conference Championship individual champion with a winning time of 25:33.41… broke his own school 8K record with a 23:48 at the Royals XC Challenge (9/29)… won four SSC Runner of the Week honors during the season… competed in nine events for the Lions while winning five… began the season with a win at the Holloway Park XC Preseason Festival (9/2) as he completed the 5K course in 16:09.7… won the Embry-Riddle Asics Classic (9/16) in the first 8K race of the season at 26:01.6… took 12th at the UF Mountain Dew Invitational in 25:44.9... returned to the win column at the Royals XC Challenge as he set the program record in the 8K at 23:48.0… took 24^th in the highly competitive Disney Cross Country Classic (10/7) while finishing in 27.36.1… just missed out on another win at the USF Bulls Invitational with a second place finish in 25:50.3... returned to the top of the podium at the SSC Championships (10/21) after crossing the line in 25.33.5… won first Region Championship at the NCAA Division II South Region Championships (11/4) with a 32:32.7 at the 10K distance… finished the season with a 53^rd place finish at the NCAA Division II Championships (11/18) in 32.13.4.

AS A FRESHMAN (2016)
Sunshine State Conference Runner of the Year and Freshman of the Year… All-Sunshine State Conference selection… U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-South Region honoree… 2016 Sunshine State Conference Championship individual champion with a winning time of 24:24.79… his SSC championship time was a championship record at the 8K distance… set a new Saint Leo 8K record with a time of 24:23 at the Lehigh University Paul Short Run (10/1), while running in the “College Gold” race against a mostly Division I field… finished first overall in four events during the 2016 season… made perhaps his biggest splash at the UF Mountain Dew Invitational (9/24), where he won with a time of 24:43.02 and defeated former UF standout and former SEC 10,000m champion Eddie Garcia… his UF Mountain Dew Invitational performance earned Cheserek USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week honors, becoming the first runner in the Sunshine State Conference to earn the accolade… posted a time of 31:43.7 at the 10K distance at the NCAA South Region Championship (11/5), and finished second overall… earned SSC Men’s Runner of the Week honors four times during the season: on September 12, after winning his collegiate debut at the Florida Tech Invitational (9/10); on September 26, following his first-place finish at the UF Mountain Dew Invitational; on October 3, after his record-setting performance at the Paul Short Run; and on October 10, after winning the Saint Leo National Preview 8K (10/8)… posted three of the four fastest 8K times in program history during his freshman season.
