WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The Saint Leo women's soccer team scored four second-half goals to earn a 4-1 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic .
After a scoreless first half, sophomore Annika Schuller broke through in the 52nd minute (51:10) by converting a penalty kick. Saint Leo doubled its lead in the 64th minute (63:35) on a Palm Beach Atlantic own goal before sophmore Ilaria Miclet added another goal just over a minute later at 64:40, assisted by sophomore Chloe Froese. The Sailfish cut into the deficit in the 79th minute (78:17), but Saint Leo answered with another own goal in the 85th minute (84:32) to secure the victory.
The Lions controlled the match offensively, outshooting Palm Beach Atlantic 25-8 and holding a 14-2 advantage in shots on goal. Saint Leo also led 7-3 in corner kicks, 54%-46% in possession and 2-1 in offsides. Froese led the Lions with eight shots and five shots on goal, while Schuller and Miclet each scored. Addison Pitts made one save in the victory.
