HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The 11th ranked Saint Leo men's golf team finished the 2026 Griffin Invitational in second place after shooting +10 in the final round on Tuesday afternoon. The Lions were led by sophomore Benjamin Morland, who placed runner-up after capping off his impressive tournament with a 72 (even) in the final round.

Morland completed the two-day event with an overall score of 207 (-9). In his collegiate debut, freshman Brett Shaw finished in a share of 11th following his score of 77 (+5). Freshman Paul Liang placed 17th  as he registered a 76, 73, and 72. Senior Nicklas Illi and freshman Jack Mast both finished tied for 25th with a 223 (+7). Rounding out the Saint Leo lineup was freshman Gavin Carver, who finished 62nd with a 246 (+30).

Saint Leo had four golfers compete as individuals with junior Micke Laurelli, sophomore Oliver Hienonen, freshman Turner Hersey, and Hunter Kinnear. Laurelli placed 29th, while Hienonen finished in 33rd followed by Hersey in 39th, and Kinnear in 57th.
Palm Beach Atlantic earned the team trophy and the individual crown with Jonah Leach placing first.

The Lions return to action on Monday, September 28 as they will host the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club.
