ORLANDO, Fla. – Saint Leo University beach volleyball team has earned the number three seed for the second Sunshine State Conference Beach Volleyball championship. The two-day six-team event will take place on the Saint Leo campus at the Saint Leo Beach Volleyball Courts, April 10-11. Live stats and results will be available for all of the matches. The championship final match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
 
Tournament Central
 
The Lions will open play in the championship at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 10 and will face the number six seeded Barry Buccaneers. This season the Lions went 4-1 against SSC competition, including a 3-0 mark against Barry.
 
The SSC BVB tournament will be double elimination except for when the remaining team in the winner's bracket plays the advancing team of the consolation bracket one time to determine the champion. All tournament matches will take place on five courts simultaneously and will be played to a decision. Sunday, April 12th, will be utilized as a rain date if necessary.
 
Following the tournament, the Lions will head to the AVCA Small College Beach Championship in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The event will be held April 17th to 19th at Gulf Shores Public Beach.
