ORLANDO, Fla. – Saint Leo women's golf freshman
McKenzee Sullivan earned All-Sunshine State Conference (SSC) honors after a year that featured four top-20 finishes and three top-10 finishes.
Over the course of the season, the Florida native posted a 75.2 scoring average while playing in 26 rounds. Her season-best score was a 70, which she carded in back-to-back rounds in the LeAnn Noble Memorial Invitational, hosted by North Georgia in the fall. During the tournament, Sullivan recorded a final score of 211 (-5) as she placed tied for fifth. In the spring the, she collected her highest finish so far as she placed runner-up in the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, hosted by Rollins with a 146 (+2).
In the SSC Championship, Sullivan fired a 76, 76, and 72 for a 224 (+8) as she earned her third top-10 place for seventh in the conference championship.
Sullivan is the program's first true freshman to receive the honor since the 2010-11 season when Heather Petronis earned All-SSC laurels.
The Lions will be back in action on Monday, May 4 as they compete in the first day of the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championship in Cleveland, Tenn.
