SAINT LEO , Fla. - The Saint Leo University women's tennis team hosted the top-ranked Barry Buccaneers on Saturday at the Saint Leo Tennis Courts. The Lions looked to get back in the win column but were pitted up against a tough Barry opponent. The visitors proved why they are the top-ranked team in Division II earning a 7-0 win. Saint Leo falls to 5-10 overall and 2-5 in SSC play.  
 
Barry, the nation's top-ranked team, set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles courts to take a 1-0 lead. Viktoriia Dema and Anastasia Nikolova defeated Camila Keller and Deren Ozel 6-2 at No. 1, while Ailen Crespo and Louane Lutringer earned a 6-1 win at No. 2 over Candice Bernier and Madelyn Martin. Dana Heimen and Alina Michalitsch completed the sweep with a 6-1 victory against Sophia Johnson and Nicol Novak at No. 3.

In singles, Barry continued its dominance, winning all six matches to secure the 7-0 result. The closest contest came at No. 1, where No. 43 Deren Ozel responded after dropping the first set but ultimately fell in three sets to No. 21 Viktoriia Dema, 2-6, 6-2, 1-6. Camila Keller battled at No. 2 before falling 6-4, 7-5, while Sophia Johnson (No. 3), Nicol Novak (No. 4), Allie Fernandini (No. 5), and Arianna Bettinelli (No. 6) each dropped straight-set decisions as Barry closed out the sweep.
