SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University beach volleyball team earned a pair of 5-0 victories over Lake Sumter on Saturday at home. Saturday was senior day for the beach volleyball program. Saint Leo honored its five-member senior class of Emma Laade, Thalie Brossard, Erin Johnson, Tajma Muharemovic, and Paula Perez Rosales. Saint Leo improves to 14-5 overall while Lake Sumter falls to 10-12 on the season.

Saint Leo claimed four of five courts in two sets in the first game of the day. The four pair for the Lions of Erin Johnson and Paula Perez Rosales opened the game with a 21-13 and 21-12 win to put the home team up 1-0. Emma Laade and Thalie Brossard picked up a win as the number two pair before Paige Reeves and Abby VanBuskirk clinched the victory for Saint Leo as the number five pair.

In the second game of the day, the Lions also claimed four of five courts in straight sets. The one's and two's pairs switched from the first match as well as the three's and four's pairs. This time Madison Moore and Anna Intagliata opened the game with a 21-11 and 21-15 two-set win to get things going. Now playing as the four's pair in the second game, Muharemovic and Caitlyn Kemer made it a 2-0 game winning 21-16 and 21-11. Laade and Brossard, as the one pair, won 21-13 and 21-12 to clinch the game victory for the home team.
