TAMPA, Fla. - Saint Leo University track and field continued their outdoor campaign at the USF Alumni Invitational.
The lions battled against major division I schools, but held their own in the highly competitive field over the two day meet in the blistering sun.
Women
Freshman Dackjerlin Senior Feliz made her season debut running personal bests in both the 400m and the 800m. Splitting 58.97 in the 400, and 2:15.88 in the 800m. Feliz's 800m mark is the 3rd fastest in NCAA DII by a freshman so far this year, and is the 6th fastest time in the Sunshine State Conference so far this season.
Sophomore Alisah Ward ran 2:21.12 in the 800m as well.
Men
Freshman Fred Filsaime ran both the 100m and 200m, crossing the line in 10.97 and 22.21 for each respectively.
Freshman Paul Rivera crushed a personal best in the 1500m of 4:05.61. In the 800m freshman Benjamin Henry set a new season best of 1:57.29.
In the hurdles, freshman Joshua Warren ran times of 15.25 in the 110m hurdles, and 55.46 in the 400m hurdles. Warren is currently the 6th fastest freshman in NCAA DII at in the 400m hurdles.
The Lions return to the track next Friday and Saturday at the UCF Knights Invite.
