GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Saint Leo track and field concluded their indoor season at the Visit Gainesville Indoor Classic, highlighted by 21 personal bests across both men and women. The women competed in 12 events and had 9 personal bests, the men 17 events, with 12 lifetime bests.
Freshman Paul Rivera ran personal bests in the mile and 800m, splitting 4:27.71 and 1:58.69. Freshman Fred Filsaime saw lifetime bests in the 60m and 200m, running marks of 7.15, 22.76.
For the women freshman Kansas Henry saw a PR in 200 at 26.10 and split 53.35 in the 4x400m. Freshman Alisah Ward saw a PR in 400 at 60.41 and splitting 59.30 in 4x4. Freshman Virginia Smith also saw a lifetime PR in the 400 by over 1.2 seconds at 62.15 and split a 61.30 in the 4x400m.
The track and field team is back in action at the university of Tampa on Feb. 22nd.
