#19 Women’s Golf Finishes 12th in Lady Moc Classic

LAKELAND, Fla. - The 19th-ranked Saint Leo women's golf team placed 12th in the Lady Moc Classic, hosted by Florida Southern, at the Grasslands Golf & Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.

Freshman McKenzee Sullivan paced the Lions as she tied for 20th following a 73 in Tuesday's round. The Florida native recorded a 76 and 80 in the first two rounds on Monday. Sullivan completed the tournament with a 229 (+13).

Freshman Maria Jaime posted a 230 (+14) for a share of 22nd. On Tuesday, Jaime fired a tournament-low 76 after posting a pair of 77s on Monday. Redshirt senior Maya Cote registered a 237 (+21) for a tie for 54th. Cote completed the two-day event with a 77 in the third round. 

Rounding out the Saint Leo lineup was sophomore Iza Stahlevi and senior Ana Valentina-Guarderas, who placed tied for 60th and 65th, respectively. Both Stahlevi and Valentina-Guarderas posted their best scores of the tournament on Tuesday with a 74 (+2) for Stahlevi and an even score of 72 for Valentina-Guarderas.

Junior Carmen Phousirith and sophomore Sophia Raab competed as individuals. Each of them tied for 80th with a score of 245 (+29). Phousirith posted an 80, 85, and 80 while Raab fired an 84, 80, and 81.

The Lions return to the links on Monday, March 16 as they compete in the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, hosted by Rollins, at the Legacy at Alaqua Club with a tee time of 8 a.m.
