SAINT LEO, Fla. - The Saint Leo University women's tennis team took to the road for its second match of the season. The Lions traveled up I-95 to Daytona Beach to take on the seventh-ranked Embry-Riddle Eagles on Wednesday afternoon. Saint Leo picked up two singles victories in the 5-2 loss. 

The Eagles jumped out to an early advantage claiming the doubles point with victories on all three doubles courts. 

Singles play started out the same way with the home team getting off to strong leads. Despite valiant efforts, the Eagles earned three singles wins to clinch the match victory. Candice Bernier and Deren Ozel earned tiebreaker wins to close out the match.
