#22 Women’s Golf Places Tied for 6th at World Golf Invitational, Jaime Ties for 8th

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The 22nd-ranked Saint Leo women's golf team placed tied for sixth in the World Golf Invitational, hosted by Flagler, at the World Golf Village on Tuesday afternoon. The Lions carded a final score of 908 (44-over).

Freshman Maria Jaime paced the Saint Leo lineup as she finished Tuesday's round in a share of eighth, marking her second top-10 placing so far this year. She opened with a 71, followed by a 72 and 78 for a final score of 221 (five-over).

Freshman McKenzee Sullivan tied for 27th with a 228 (12-over). The Florida native shot better in each round as opened with a 79, before firing a 76 and then a 73. Senior Ana Valentina-Guarderas completed her tournament in a share of 51st. She registered scores of 76, 79, and 79 in the two-day tournament.

Rounding out the Saint Leo lineup was redshirt senior Maya Cote and sophomore Iza Stahlevi as they finished tied for 55th. Cote fired an 86 in the first round followed by a 73 in the second and 76 in the third while Stahlevi notched a 79, 80, and 76.

The Lions return to action on Monday, February 23 as they travel to compete in the Lady Moc Classic, hosted by Florida Southern with a start time of 8 a.m.
