LAKELAND, Fla. – The19th-ranked Saint Leo men's golf team moved up six spots on the team leaderboard during the final round to finish in fourth at the Matlock Invitational as it carded a score of 878 (14-over).
Freshman
Benjamin Morland led the Saint Leo lineup as he placed tied for 19th with scores of 70, 72, and 76 for a 218 (two-over). Sophomore
Micke Laurelli finished in a share of 21st as he fired a 76 in the opening round, followed by a 70 and 73.
Junior
Maximilian Morgenstern tied for 36th that was highlighted by a 69 in Tuesday's round. Prior to the third round, Morgenstern posted a 76 and 79 on Monday.
Senior
Enzo Barbaglia and
Ryan Letterly completed the tournament in a share of 59th with a 229 (13-over).
Junior
Nicklas Illi, who competed as an individual, finished fifth with a 212 (four-under) after recording scores of 68, 69, and 75. This marks his first top-five finish of the season.
The Lions return to the links on Monday, February 16 as they host the Saint Leo Invitational at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
